Preschool Director: Newly established Islamic school in search of PreK Director: Applicant should have at least an associates degree in child development or a related field, OCCS certification preferred, have at least 2 years of supervised experience with preschool children, be able to integrate Islamic values and behavior into classroom rituals, be a strong teacher, be able to relate to families and their children, be able to motivate and cooperate with staff, have management or supervisory experience, have strong English communication skills with proficiency of a second language preferred, and be proficient in basic computer operations.

  • Cooperate with board in helping implement the mission of the school with the partnership of staff, parents, community members, and students.
  • Depending on staffing needs, may lead instruction of some portion of the curriculum as well as substitute for the classroom teacher.
  • Supervise and mentor teaching staff in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Be responsible for meeting school performance standards and report to the board on progress, action plans, and necessary interventions.
  • Maintain substitute staff list in order to arrange for adequate student-adult ratio.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents and staff.
  • Arrange for professional development of staff and help lead the school certification effort.
  • Manage the maintenance of all student records including: health, registration, tuition, and academic.
  • Manage the maintenance of all staff records including: health, licensure, pay, and performance evaluation.

Preschool Teacher:
Newly established Islamic school in search of PreK teacher. Applicant should have at least 3 credits in child development with additional education preferred, have at least 9 months of supervised work experience, be able to integrate Islamic values and behavior into classroom rituals, be able to create a stimulating learning environment for different childrens’ needs, be able to relate to families and children, be able to be cooperate and be flexible with staff, and have strong English communication skills with proficiency of a second language preferred.

  • Cooperate with the board and director in helping implement the mission of the school with the partnership of staff, parents, community members, and students.
  • Create and work toward ongoing communication with parents.
  • Develop schedule of daily and theme activities that meet students’ developmental needs.
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate areas of concern to Director and the parents.
  • Maintain records or portfolios of student work.
  • Manage and motivate support of assistant teacher.

Preschool Assistant Teacher: Newly established Islamic school in search of Pre K Assistant teacher: Applicant should have supervised experience with children and basic knowledge of child development, be willing to grow and learn new skills, cooperate and support the teacher and other school staff, model Islamic behavior, and be able to relate to children and their families.

  • Cooperate with board, director, and teacher in helping implement the mission of the school with the partnership of staff, parents, community members, and students.
  • Assist teacher in all classroom and school monitoring of student development.
  • Depending on staffing issues, may lead instruction of some portion of the curriculum.
  • Help teacher maintain a nurturing, safe, and orderly learning environment.

The Islamic Academy of New England welcome applicants for the following positions:

Teachers of Math, Sciences, Language Art and Social Studies:
These teachers will teach these subjects to grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. They will also provide support, supervision and help to the teachers of k-5th grades in these subjects. The requirement is at least a Bachelors degree in the respective subject and experience in teaching these subjects.

Arabic Teacher:
Applicants who have good knowledge of Arabic and who have a bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognized college or university are encouraged to apply. Past experience in teaching Arabic is highly valued. During the Arabic class (one period daily) the students are divided into 3 levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) or 2 levels (beginner and advanced); each level is instructed by a separate teacher.

Elementary School Teachers:
They will act as classroom teacher for grades k through 5. The requirement is at least a Bachelors degree and experience.
